Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat Middle RWRP is a reverse wind, reverse polarity version of the SSL-6 single coil for Stratocaster. It uses the same flat hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets and special high output coil winding as the standard version, and is made reverse wound and reverse polarity so that, when combined with the neck or bridge pickups in positions 2 & 4, you’re given noiseless operation.
On its own it will give you the same balanced, beefed up, and punchy tone that you get from the standard wound model.
These bobbins are hand built with Forbon, dipped in lacquer then wound and wax potted for squeal free performance. Duncan uses modern oval Forbon flatwork (non-triangular) which enables this pickup to fit into any guitar that is routed for single coils.
