Genelec 7040 -subwoofer is an excelent add-on for Genelec 8020 or 8030-series active monitors. It brings more accurate low end response to the table.
The case is made with the pantented LSE (Laminar Spiral Enclosure) technique, which is familiar from all of the 7000-series subwoofers. 7040 has balanced line-level connections for stereosystems with XLR-plugs.
The subwoofer pairs best with Genelec 8000-series 2-way active speakers 8010, 8020C and the M-series M030. It also works great with G One and G Two models with the right cables.
7040-subwoofers bass management filters everything under 85 Hertz from the main signal to itself and sends higher frequencies to the main monitors. This eases the bass load of the main monitors. The speaker is also equipped with ISS-power consumption reduction system, which switches the subwoofer to stand-by mode when it doesn't detect a signal.
