ESP Custom Shop Alexi Katakana is a rare top-tier Alexi Laiho Signature model that offers unmatched pro-level performance, playability and sound for the most demanding guitarist.
Made by hand, one at a time, by the world-renowned luthiers at the ESP Custom Shop in Japan, the Alexi Katakana is designed for pure performance. It features a high quality lightweight alder body with neck thru body construction for maximum sustain and access to higher frets. The satin grip neck is made of three-piece hard maple and fretboard is ebony with 24 extra jumbo -sized frets. Fretboard is scalloped between 19-24 and features sawtooth inlays plus ”Alexi” text written in Japanese katakana on the 12th fret.
Other high-end features on this outstanding guitar include Gotoh tuners, ESP strap locks, and a Floyd Rose Original bridge. A single EMG HZ F-H2 passive humbucker creates the excellent presence and clarity with a punchy response that you can expect from an Alexi signature guitar. It also includes an ESP MM-04 active boost switch, a preamp circuit with adjustable EQ settings and up to +18dB of boost when you need it.
The Alexi Katakana model is finished in gloss black with yellow pinstripes on front and back of the body, white neck and headstock bindings and gold hardware.
The guitar is set up to your preferred tuning and action before shipping. It comes in a high quality ESP hard case with a certificate of authenticity.
