Seymour Duncan Hot Strat Middle RWRP is a reverse wound/reverse polarity version of the Hot Strat, designed for a unique beefed up ‘in-between’ sound without hum.
This pickup is built RW/RP, reverse wound/reverse polarity so that when installed in the middle position and combined with the neck or bridge pickups, it will be hum cancelling and give you the biggest 2 & 4 sound possible. On its own, the taller alnico 5 magnets and overwound coil provide a heavier Stratocaster tone with humbucker-like cut, and punchy harmonics.
Combine with an SSL-3 in the neck and bridge for a complete, high output setup.
The bobbins are hand built using a unique high-output coil wind, taller hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets, and are wax potted for squeal free performance. Duncan uses modern ‘oval’ Forbon flatwork (non-triangular) which enables this pickup to fit into any guitar that is routed for single coils.
